My .NET 2.0 application truncates rtf data on insert and update to 1033
characters using OLE DB. Does anyone know why?

The resulting field length in Access is 1024. Where is the data being
    truncated?

This is a newsgroup which answers Access, Jet, and VBA questions. You might
find your answer in a .NET newsgroup.

Since I am storing to an Access database using the Jet engine, I thought
there might be someone to help.

The truncation is not in Jet and not in the OLE DB provider. Here's a
    quick demo:

    Sub TestOLEDB()
    Dim cat
    Set cat = CreateObject("ADOX.Catalog")
    With cat
    .Create _
    "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & _
    "Data Source=C:\DropMe.mdb;"

    With .ActiveConnection

' Dummy one-row temp table for bulk insert
    .Execute _
    "CREATE TABLE DropMe (anything INTEGER);"
    .Execute _
    "INSERT INTO DropMe VALUES (1);"

' Test table with a MEMO column
    .Execute _
"CREATE TABLE Test2 (data_col MEMO NOT NULL);"

' Insert a 2000 character string into the MEMO
    .Execute _
    "INSERT INTO Test2 (data_col) " & _
    " SELECT STRING$(2000, 'A') AS data_col" & _
    " FROM DropMe;"

    ' Query test data
    Dim rs
    Set rs = .Execute( _
    "SELECT LEN(data_col) AS data_col_length" & _
    " FROM Test2;")

    MsgBox rs.GetString
    rs.Close

    End With
    Set .ActiveConnection = Nothing
    End With
    End Sub

The only problems with the memo field using Access as a front-end is that
there is a cut-off of data at 64K, but that's in the specification. If an
import into a memo field, using the Access front-end, has the first 8 or so
rows with less than 255 characters, the import wizard will often recognize
it as a text field instead of a memo field.

Since your problem isn't one of these, it most likely is one associated with
    ..NET.
