    hey all

i saw books here expousing sikhism what seemed to be "mantras" to bring all sorts of success.

It seemed all very "new age" if you know what I mean.

Is Sikhism normally so "new age"?

    Just curious.

    thank you.

I think it is fair to give some examples, so all know what I am referring too:

Ancient Healing Ways - Natural, Organic and Spiritual Products - Online Store

It has books on Sikhism, also, but alot of other new age stuff.

not to get too off topic, but how correct is it to say that the reason men have beards, because a subtle body channel meets at the chin and it deals with us being more stable, etc. or something.

just wondering - this isn't aimed only at you skeptik, anyone can answer.

Religion buy virtue is ageless, timeless, classless and transcendental. Anything modernist or new age is a compromise of the original product pummelled by seekers of a platform of cool credibility unable to meet the standards of the original form caused by a lack of understanding of the basic principles of the faith they seek to make their own.

Sikhs are émigrés in many host nations, perfectly integrated into what are drastically changing societies and turbulent times of upheaval and social secularism. Their ability to adapt to their new environment without concession is what has created a strong race of well balanced thinking adherents.

The apparel and external appearance may change but the heart, mind and spirit remain Sikh by nature. That is true new ageism, rather than the repackaged and commercialised faddishness so revered by the infidels of fashion and current market trends.

The name of this site was changed from Sikhnet to Sikh Philosophy to cater for the thinking population requiring staples of spiritual sense to counter balance the structured indoctrination of the state determined education system and media peer pressure.

That is plenty New Age for our liking...
