    Hi All,

    I have created and saved query and i have used it in a join in another
    query. I guess this would be a nested query.

    I would like to know the SQL that would produce the same result

    Query1
    SELECT DISTINCT Attendance.School_Num, Attendance.Dte
    FROM Attendance
    WHERE (((Attendance.Dte)=CLng(Date())));

    Query2
    SELECT Staff.school_num
    FROM Staff LEFT JOIN Query1 ON Staff.school_num = Query1.School_Num
    WHERE (((Query1.School_Num) Is Null));

    How do i rewrite Query2 to incorporate the actual Query1 statement. I don't
    want to have to refer to a saved query. I'm just not sure of the syntax

    regards

    nathan

    SELECT Staff.school_num
    FROM Staff LEFT JOIN
    (SELECT DISTINCT Attendance.School_Num,
    Attendance.Dte
    FROM Attendance
    WHERE (((Attendance.Dte)=CLng(Date())))) AS A
    ON Staff.school_num = A.School_Num
    WHERE (((A.School_Num) Is Null));

    There's nothing wrong with referring to a stored query. However, assuming
    you're using Access 2000 or newer, you should be able to use:

    SELECT Staff.school_num
    FROM Staff LEFT JOIN
    (SELECT DISTINCT Attendance.School_Num, Attendance.Dte
    FROM Attendance
    WHERE Attendance.Dte=CLng(Date())) AS Query1
    ON Staff.school_num = Query1.School_Num
    WHERE Query1.School_Num Is Null
