GURUDWARA SHRI FATEHGAR SAHIB is situated in the Distt Town FatehGarh Sahib. This place marks the site of the execution of the two younger sons of SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI at the behest of Wazir Khan of Kunjpura, the faujdar of Sirhind. As GURU GOBIND SINGH JI evacuated Anandpur on the night of 5-6 December 1705, he was closely pursued by the host. In front ran the Sarsa swollen with rain water. Under cover of a quick rearguard action fought on the banks of the stream, he succeeded in crossing it, but the members of his family got scattered in the tumult. GURU GOBIND SINGH JI`S old mother, Mata Gujari Ji, and her two grandsons, Zorawar Singh ji and Fateh Singh ji, aged 9 and 7 years respectively, had nowhere to go until their cook, named Gangu, offered to take them to his own village Kheri. They accompanied him to his house. But he proved deceitful and betrayed them to Jam Khan and Man Khan of Morinda. They latter at once despatched them to Sirhind where they were consigned to the Cold Tower (Thanda Burj). GURUDWARA SHRI THANDA BURZ SAHIB exists there at the Fort. On 9 December 1705, Zorawar Singh ji and Fateh Singh ji were produced before Wazir Khan, who had just returned from the battle of Chamkaur. Wazir Khan tried to lure them to embrace Islam with promises of riches and honours, but they spurned the offer. He threatened them with death as an alternative to Islam, but they remained firm. A death sentence was eventually awarded. Nawab Sher Muhammad Khan of Malerkoila protested that it would be improper to harm the innocent children. Wazir Khan, however, ordered them to be bricked up alive in a wall, if they still refused conversion. They were kept in the Cold Tower in that severe winter for another two days. On 11 December, they, under the orders of Wazir Khan they were bricked alive in the wall. That place is in Basement. The next day their bodies were taken out from there and were thrown on the back side of GURUDWARA SAHIB. GURUDWARA SHRI BIBANGARH SAHIB exists there.

GURUDWARA SHRI BIBANGARH SAHIB is situated in the Distt City Fatehgarh Sahib. It's situated on the back side of GURUDWARA SHRI FATEHGARH SAHIB. In 1704, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh ji were martyerd mercilessly. After their martydom Bhai Moti Ram Mehra ji narrated the whole incident to Mother Gujri Ji. After listening this Mother Gujri prayed before god and left his holy abode. Mughals threw their dead bodies in dense forest behind GURUDWARA SHIR FATEHGARH SAHIB, on bank of River Hansla. It marks the place where dead bodies of the three martyrs were kept for the night, and their hearses prepared prior to cremation.

As stated earlier, the grandsons of Mata ji were kept in the Cold Tower another two days. On 11 December, they, under the orders of Wazir Khan were bricked alive in the wall. That place is in Basement. The next day their bodies were taken out from there and were thrown from the rear of Gurdwara Sahib, as was the body of Mataji.

Mata Gujri Ji..is also the First SIKH Woman who has the UNIQUE HONOUR of being the WIFE of Shaheed Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, MOTHER of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Grand mother of the Four Shaheed Saibzadahs _ Ajit Singh, Jhujaar Singh, Zorawar Singh and fateh Singh ji...and as SHAHEED herself. This is impossible to duplicate..and thus Mata Gujjar Kaur ji stands tall in Sikh history as a shining beacon of what an IDEAL SIKH wife/Mother/Grandmother should be. Can you imagine the sheer fortitude and moral as well as physical strength of an aged grandmother, at the height of the blizzardy cold Indian Winter with freezing temps trudging along slippery mountain trails...providing the Moral courage to the Young sahibzadahs aged just 6++ to stand up to the tyrant Rulers as no one has ever done before...

Its so sad that we the SIKHS have utterly FAILED in our duty to remember Mata Gujjar Kaur..we have failed to tell the world about her and failed to HONOUR her supreme sacrifice for US...we have simply FAILED in all aspects. This is the wife who willinglys net her Husband to sacrifice his head in delhi..this is the MOTHER who gave us the greatest human ever born - GURU GOBIND SINGH JI...and the Grandmother who guided the young grandsons to maintain their dignity and honour till the very end and DEFEAT the TYRANT at his own evil Game. My head bows at her feet...in all humility...

    Aspnadmin Ji

From my heart, I bow to you for putting these posts on Spn.

The impact of such posts will be very big on those, who are not turned ungrateful towards the martyrs like Mataji and exceptionally bold to the core Sahibzadas.
    Regards

    Respected Gyani ji

I thank you for writing about the reality many Sikhs appear to ignore. Indians at large also have forgotten how the clutches of tyranny inflicted on their ancestors was removed by Khalsa created by Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji and his family.

    Very Nice Article Ji..
But still we lack in telling the world that how much sacrifices our ancestors have done for humanity.
