PATIALA: The ‘Ardas Diwas’ sponsored by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday at Gurdawara Dukh Nivaran Sahib remained a non-event amid low turnout on the function.

The timing of function was changed by three times by SAD as no body has reported at Diwan hall at Gurdwara Dukhniwarn Sahib at 8.30 am.

The official communication issued by SAD mentioned that Chief Minister's Media Advisor Harcharan Bains’s name cited him that “Deputy Chief Minister Punjab S. Sukhbir Singh Badal will join Ardas at Gurdwara Sri Dukh Nivaran Sahib in Patiala by 8:30 AM.”

The local scribes on Sunday morning were been informed that Deputy Chief Minister will be arriving the venue at 10.00 am later they were informed that he will come half hour late.

In fact function was postponed due to low turnout; at last Sukhbir Singh Badal arrived at the venue around 12.00 pm. Hundreds of policemen in plain cloths wearing Kesri (saffron) and blue turbans were seen to sit in the pandal.

It was pertinent to mentioned that HS Bains has issued an appeal on Both Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal for Sangat and requesting them to turn out in large numbers in every village and city across World. Ardas would be offered for peace to the departed souls of the hapless victims of 1984 carnage and justice to the bereaved families as well as severest and early punishment to the guilty.
