    I have 2 database tables, Master and Detail. I would like to create a join
    query to select the Master records that have no detail records. I have tried
    many ways but can't find the solution.

    Thanks for your help in advance

    When you click "New Query" the query wizard offers a choice of "Find
    Unmatched Query Wizard". This will walk you right through creating a query
    to find all records in one table that do not have associated records in
    another table.

    Try something like the following?

    SELECT Master.PK, Master.Fld1, Count(Detail.PK)
    FROM Master LEFT JOIN Detail ON Master.Fld1 = Detail.PK
    GROUP BY Master.PK
    HAVING (((Count(Detail.PK))=0));

    Use the Unmatched Query Wizard.
