I am using cascading combo boxes to pick up employee information from one
reference table for part of a form (for which the rest is taken from another
    table).

Is there anyway I can insert records from one reference table and put them
    in another table?

Is it better to use a query to join the two tables together?

Not sure what you are asking. You want to move a record from one table to
another? Why? What are the different tables?

Generally (but not always) if you have two tables with the same structure,
you most likely have a flawed structure. Typically, this would be done in
one table with a new field to identify which type the record is. In other
words, if you have an active and inactive table - instead, you should have
one table with an "inactive" checkbox or date field. If you have multiple
tables, one for each "department" or "location" then you should have them in
one table with a "location" or "department" field.

Post back if you have more details that could help us give you more
    guidance.

Hi Scuba -- You generally want to avoid storing duplicate data in tables.
Instead, you build relationships between the tables using Primary and Foreign
Keys; this is part of normalization. If you need further assistance, post
    back...

I'm not using duplicate data at all. The information stored in each table is
    different.

For one table (which I have called "info") I am storing

    employee name
Whether they are currently working for the department
Whether they are permanent or temporary
What their hourly pay rate is.

In the form I am able to populate the three fields by using cascading combos
using "employee name" (though having problems with pay rate for some reason).

I then realised because "info" is a separate table to the rest of the form,
the employee data won't be stored permanently with the other information.

Is there any way to permanently record data from one table with another table?

    Hope this makes sense!

Any ideas? too complicated? Or is it easier just to enter all the
    information by hand?
