    Hello.

I have 2 tables (say A and B) with contains a number of fields. There is 1
field common to both tables. I want to extract 2 fields from table B and put
them in table A. Can someone help me? There must be an easy way to do that,
    but I'm a newbie...
    thanks.

Look at the QBE grid. Click on Queries ... New and add tables to the grid.
Link the 2 tables on their common field, by dragging one to the other. Add
the fields to the table, and run the query.

You are describing a JOIN, one of the fundamentals of SQL.
