How to copy information from one form to another form

I have two forms and want to copy information from some fields in one form to
some fields in the other form. I have set up a command button in the first
form; the user clicks it and it copies information from the first form, opens
the second form, and pastes append. However, the information isn't being
pasted into all of the fields in the second form (I have made sure that the
field names in each form/table are the same). For these fields that aren't
working, each is bound to a drop down box in the second form, something like

    Control Source = Combo12.Column(6).

When I delete this control source, the information is pasted into the field
beautifully. However, I need the control source to populate the field
automatically for other, more common, uses (for example, the user selects a
client from the drop down box and their personal information is displayed
automatically). Any ideas how to keep the control source as is, but make the
paste append work, would be great.

I'm using MS Access 2003 on Windows XP.

I hope this is clear; if not, I can try to clarify. Thanks,

    Matt
