    Please help me with the syntax for this stLinkCriteria. I have a main form
    with two subforms. Subform1 is in datasheet view and shows a few columns
    from the Classes table. When I click on a Class Row in the datasheet, I want
    to show the detail for that class in subform2. I've been going around in
    circles with this silly problem for 10 days, with no success. I guess I
    haven't asked the right question.

    I've tried using Link Child Fields, and Link Master Fields, with no success.

    Perhaps I can achieve my desired end with some VB, based on an OnCLick event
    in subform1. What would be the stLinkCriteria and DoCmd to show detail in
    subform2. The Primary key to the Classes table is ClassID.

    stDocName = "subform2"
    stLinkCriteria = ???
    DoCmd ???

    For an example of how to build this kind of form, open the Northwind sample
    database, and the Customer Orders form. Follow that example.

Since you're here... we have a small favor to ask...

More people are visiting & reading SPN than ever but far fewer are paying to sustain it. Advertising revenues across the online media have fallen fast. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Donating to SPN's is vote for free speech, for diversity of opinions, for the right of the people to stand up to religious bigotry. Without any affiliation to any organization, this constant struggle takes a lot of hard work to sustain as we entirely depend on the contributions of our esteemed writers/readers. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too... Fund our efforts and together we can keep the world informed about the real Sikh Sikhi Sikhism.
