I'm new here, and to Sikhism.

I registered because I seek truth,
and love to talk of spiritual things.

I didn't end up posting because I'm not familiar with many of the terms.
You all post in English, but interspersed with words that I do not know.

It seems one does need to be well versed in Sikh literature,
which I am not.
Do you have a glossary of Sikh terms?

Now I received an invitation (spam?) from here to join in.
The email was sent double and was hard to read because the coding was showing instead of formating the text.
(Just to let you know)

I also found this site to be not the most user friendly.
-It took a while for me to find this "New to Sikhism' section.
(A small subtitle halfway down the index? I was new here and hadn't worked worked out the Section/Subsection structure of this forum yet.)
-Then I clicked on 'Thread Starter' to start a new topic
(Clicked the back button because I didn't understand what I got but I could not see a text box and post button.)

Just a bit of feedback for admin. ;)
-------------------------------
I'm Australian, living in a small rural village.

I met God when I was following the Spirit of the world.
He told me not to cut my hair.
When my beard grew, He led me to a Holy place and poured out a blessing onto me.
I Love the Spirit of the world.

I wondered if I was a Sikh because I know Sikh's are special blessed people.
Just by the way they look and carry themselves (and don't cut their hair).

Comingfrom,

Thanks for joining the forum. As you know Sikhi is the only religion that has a universal concept of brother/sisterhood and fraternity.

I am glad you know where you are coming from but we are all in search of where we are going to. Pun intended.:)

Welcome and join this beautiful journey where ever it may take us.

Welcome comingfrom,

Off-topic: Did you ever visit Capetown? I happened to meet a person with same description as yourself there.

And yes, together we learn.

Regards.

Thank you all, for you kind words and very warm welcome.

Tejwant, I think I know where I'm going now. The Holy Land. :)

Actually, I don't know about the universal concept of brother/sisterhood and fraternity. Sounds like a starting point for me.

I'll try and learn about it. If I have a question I'll start up a thread.

Hi Sevedaar Singh, no I have never been to Africa.

I have been to India, back in 1979, but I had no contact with Sikhs while there.

Thank you for those links.
I can already see it. I will have a glossary open in another window while reading peoples posts.

Alt_TAB, Alt_TAB...
Alt_TAB, Alt_TAB...

I forgot to put my name in my signature. It is Paul.

Be exceeding glad.

You are welcome Paul.

We will be glad to reply back. However, before any new posting, a quick search on existing threads may be helpful.

Wishing a great stay in the discussions.
