Chandigarh (Haryana Live): The Haryana Government has invited applications in the prescribed proforma from the students belonging to Minority Communities, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis) pursuing technical or professional courses at undergraduate/postgraduate level for scholarship for the year 2010-11.

Under the scheme, hostelers and day scholars were paid Rs 10,000 per annum and Rs 5,000 per annum for maintenance allowance respectively and Rs 20,000 per annum or actual whichever is less for course fee.

Haryana domicile students who have got admission in a recognised college to pursue technical / professional courses on the basis of a competitive examination, were eligible for the scholarship and students who have got admission without facing any competitive examination were also eligible for the scholarship provided they have got not less than 50 per cent marks at higher secondary / graduation level. Selection of these students would be done strictly on merit basis.

The annual family income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of the beneficiary should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh per annum from all sources. 30 per cent scholarships were reserved for girls of each Minority Community which are transferable to male students of that Community in case of non-availability of female candidates in that community
