Hi, I am new to Access and creating databases though I have a background in computer animation and have in the past been able to pick up Microsoft applications relatively fast (for a non-techie!). However, I need to create an image catalog database for a museum. So far, I have created the tables, forms and reports, as well as the main switchboard. Now I would like to add a search command to my switchboard which would allow the user to search for a record based on the fields in my main table. I am using the catalogue # of the item as the primary key and would also like to be able to search via some of the other fields (such as object name, etc). I was able to create a search form using the form from: http://www.mvps.org/access/forms/frm0045.htm This search form fits my needs, with the exception of using all my tables and all their fields as search categories (which ideally I would like to pick and choose these). My main issue however, is that when the search results come up -- is it possible to click on a record and create a button or event to open up the form with that specific record? This seems like it would be a fairly fundamental action but I cannot figure out a code or way to actually do anything with the search form's results. Please help!!!!!!
