The sikhism at the time guru hargobind ji was very diverse.

The people of different part of india were following sikhism. But now it looks like sikhism is totally punjabified.99% of sikhs are punjabi .It looks like we punjabi's has hijacked sikhism

    comments apprecited

    agree with you KDS ji

people mix punjabi culture with sikhism

i find it more striking when i see this outside india.

a lot of punjabi cultural aspects have become almost accepted as "Sikhi"

This is going to sound controversial:

I would say Ramgarhia's and Jatt's have hijacked Sikhism and made it into a form quite different from what it was........as a result Sikhism has become Punjabified!

Punjabi-ism and Sikhism are two different and disntict things.

Note these people formed the bulk of Guru Hargobinds warriors and they all seem to come from mercantile and trader type backgrounds..........in contradiction to Mcleod.

well i do agree that punjabism has hijacked sikhism buh where did punjabism came fromm
the superstitions the caste system, etc...
    .... brahminism....
im not sayinn hinduismm im sayinn brahminismmm.
they believe in caste system ann all the superstitions.. when the sikhs had to stay in the forest for 50-60 years hu took care of the history of sikhism ann gurdwaras ... mahants... so i shud conclude wid that "brahminism" kinda hijacked sikhism ann its own religion.. hinduismm...

I think other castes should also be blamed.they are also not doing anything good for sikhism.so all punjabi's should be blamed for punjabifying sikhism

You are right....Khatri's and Arora's tried to push Sikhism to Hinduism....1920's and the Mahants are examples of this.......

Jatts and Tarkhans have a heavy Vashanvite bias at this moment in time i.e. AKJ, GnSSJ, Namdhari's etc...

    So what is the solution?

Solution seems to be spread of Sikhism more beyond the punjab and making these people also part of SGPC and other managing Commeties

may be ?this what came to my mind

Here is the article on sikhmarg.com , the threat to sikhism is from sikh sampradas

    SIKHI NOO KHATRA

It mentions that once in punjab sikilgar sikhs used to do prakash of guru granth sahib in thier gaddi's.They even proudly said that we were used to weapons for guru gobind singh ji.But the fanatic sikh organisations started calling it beadbi of guru granth sahib as a result large number of them reverted back to hinduism.

seriously when we have fanatic sikh organisations like these then who need enemies.
They will kick out each and every sikh from sikhism
