earliest and latest date/time per day

    I have some data that is date/time.
    I need to be able to pick out the earliest time stamp and the latest
    time stamp for a particular date(s). What would be the query to have a
    report show only those two date/time criteria yet not show all the
    other time stamps in between?
    access 2000 on xp.
