    Dim strSQL as String
strSQL = "Delete YourTableName.* from YourTableName;"
    CurrentDb.Execute strSQL, dbFailOnError

    Using dao in vba:
    CurrentDb.Execute "Delete From [a tablename]"

Thanks so much. Sorry to bug you again, but do you know how to change a field
from unindexed to indexed using VB?

Have you checked online help? You can use dao code too.
The following code segment creates an index named indexname
for a field named fieldname in a table named tablename:

Dim dbs As Database, tdf As TableDef, idx As Index
    Set dbs = CurrentDb
    Set tdf = dbs.TableDefs("tablename")
    With tdf
    Set idx = .CreateIndex("indexname")
    With idx
    .Fields.Append .CreateField("fieldname")
' you could use ".Unique = True" here
    End With
    .Indexes.Append idx
    End With
    Set idx = Nothing
    Set tdf = Nothing
    Set dbs = Nothing
