Cannot add new record within a form

I have built a form with many subforms which all link correctly when records are selected. All of the subforms work correctly except one. It accepts all of the data fields for the query, but when I tab to complete the record entry and attempt to move to the next record, nothing happens. There are no error messages, and the cursor does not move. The record is not written to the table. I have tried to trap the After Update event, but the VB code is not called.

The query comes from two tables to create the dynaset. The dynaset is updateable which I can prove by adding a record to the tables by executing the query directly.

Any ideas on why a query that works fine on its own, will not work on a subform?
