I use to connect some clients using Access 2003 to a SQL Server 2000
db. Everything worked well for long time but suddenly a client stopped
to connect to the server. I tryed with a different username on the same
PC with no results. All the other clients performe well. On the
"faulty" PC if I try to do queries with Excel on the same SQL db, I
    have no problem.
It seams to me that the problem is in this particular Access
installation or in the WinXP Pro on this PC. WinXP is fully updated and
so Office 2003. I also tried to uninstall Office and start again but
the connection is still not possible. Please help!

I reply to myself. Microsoft Support suggested me to try update or
reinstall MDAC and gave me a link with the instructions:
    http://www.pqsystems.com/kb/activekb/questions/165/
I did install again MDAC following the instructions and everything is
    working fine again.

I assume that you are talking about Access ADP file.

Are other clients (PC?) on the same network? If so, you can start Access ADP
application and then click menu "File"->"Connection...", to compare what how
the connections to SQL Server are different. If they are the same, they both
should be able to connect as long as the network connection is OK.. However,
if you use Windows Security to connect to SQL Server, if one cannot connect,
it is most likely that the SQL Server does not have a login that maps to
that user's Windows domain account, or that login is not given a proper
access privilege to certain database on the SQL Server.

That last thing I'd do is to susppect particular Access installation, the
likelyhood is very low, especially if it worked before.
