    Best Word To Use When Referring To Devanagari In Conversation?

    When speaking with someone who speaks Punjabi (and some English) and I am talking about Devanagari (writing system), what is the best word to use to refer to it so that they will understand what I am talking about. Do they know it as nagari or as a different word?
