Eighteen Super-Natural Powers- ਅਠਾਰਹ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ

Hi all,

From my understanding of Sikhism supernatural powers AND superstitions do not exist. I thought it was Guru jis missions to destroy the concepts of these things...

I believe that any reference to these "sidhis" in the GGS are purely metaphorical, as someone pointed out earlier.

For me, I believe in logic. The logic that Waheguru created. 1 + 1 must ALWAYS equal 2 no matter where you go in this universe. Any supernatural powers just contradict the logic of the universe. The concept of a triangle is a 3 sided shape where all the angles inside add up to 180 degrees. It does not make sense to say that you can get a 4 sided triangle, just as it does not make sense to say that supernatural powers exist within this universe.

This is why I am so in love with Sikhism because I believe that this is what it teaches. But I cannot argue with logic. So much so, that if I ever realised that it did believe in supernatural powers, I would have to leave Sikhi and search for another path to Waheguru.

Just want to know what are your thoughts on this...?

100% agree, there are rules, rules of gravity, physics, chemistry, all are respected and complied with, there are no miracles, just understanding and applying the logic contained in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

There is Non-Euclidean geometry that applies in the Universe.

I believe in alot of those miracles especially the first two concerning size ,as my wife gets smaller and then gets bigger especially if there is a wedding to go to,and as for 1 plus 1 makes 2 ,after we got married it seemed to make four!

Guru's grace is more then hundreds of sidhis for a devoted Sikh.
