I just want to know what everyone believes on following issues -

1. Non Veg and Sikhism

2. Homosexuality and Sikhism

3. Masturbating/Watching Porn and Sikhism

I respect other religions too, but I am against dera/sant/baba/mullah/pandit culture. I believe our mind should be pure, others things are not important.

I am here for gyan, I am in mid 20s, last 2-3yrs have been very tough, I am strict veg now but I want to join gym now and many people advised me to start consuming non veg again, I can't afford expensive protein shakes blah blah. and you all know homosexuality is legalized in India, I am very happy, dont worry about me, it was just disheartening to see cruel people abusing god gifted souls, I feel we should leave right wrong/ paap swarg narak to supreme God. Some people are homosexual just like some people are left handers ! and Masturbatory behavior has been documented in a very wide range of species. Individuals of some species have been known to create tools for masturbation purposes.

The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom.
What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin?

Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night.
They practice hypocrisy, and make a show before other people, but they do not understand anything about meditation or spiritual wisdom.
O Nanak, what can be said to the blind people? They cannot answer, or even understand what is said.
They alone are blind, who act blindly. They have no eyes in their hearts.

My view is, that is a relationship (regardless of gender) is not based on Kaam (sexual obsession), then that relationship is fine. At the end of the day, the sould does not have a gender, so as men and women we are all the same.

I think on masturbation, it is something of a natural phenomena and should not be looked at with disgust. It is a private matter and everyone should make their own minds up about it.

Porn can make people have a skewed view of sexuality and relationships and can cause people to become obsessed with Kaam, so it maybe something to be avoided. I know some married couple who use porn to enhance their relationship (sexual techniques) etc, and I would hardly call them obsessed with sex.

I am against Dera, Baba Sant Cult culture. It is a blot on Punjab and India.

More than being minds pure, our actions should be pure. Our minds can wander, and that’s fine, so long as we don’t act on those wandering thoughts. Control, of Kaam, Krodh, Moh, Lobh and Hankaar is far more important.

Eat what you want.

You know in the old days, Hindu parents who sons wanted to become Muslim used to say to their children, if you want to eat meat, then become a Sikh as they are allowed.

To this day, the Sikh Rehat Maryada only forbids “Kuttha meat” (Halal, Kosher, Bali sacrificed meat) for an Amritdhari Sikh.

The Sant/Dera, Vaishno Babay walay have made vegetarianism an issue in order to recruit more people.

Nothing wrong with homosexuality. Some of by best friends are homosexual, and they are the most spiritual people I know.

Don’t dwell on masturbation too long as it is a personal issue.
