Is it true that a reinterpretation/rewriting/changing of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is being done by the Radaswamis or the Naamdaris?

This is something a friend has just asked me, and its the first I have heard of it, something along the lines that a 'Guru' from one or the other group 'disowned' their own son because of it.

Clarification is the way forward ...

A seeker.

Re: Re writing the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Jaswinder Ji,

Unscrupulous minds have and will continue to try their best to distort & twist the meanings of Gurbani to suit their requirements. The main reason i think for this is that we, ourselves, hardly strive to understand the meaning. The task of such unscrupulous minds becomes even more simpler to mislead our aimless minds.

Please let us know how Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji can be rewritten or changed ? Whosoever is telling you all such things is confusing you and nothing more.

Regards

I never heard of any re-writing thing. But yes, Guru Sahib is getting translated into different languages on a continuous basis. Not sure though, about how the authenticity of original thoughts is maintained by translation.
