| | | | | Re: Importance of Rehat maryada I think having a Sikh rehat maryada is important. However, I feel very disheartened by the lack of good leadership. A few examples are the Akal Takht stating that they don't believe the RagMala is Gurbani and not reading it but to avoid confrontation saying people can use it. Surely they should make a decision one way or the other! The number of ex jathedars that have had a tankhaiya which was then reversed. The lack of response against babas, deras and sants. The political influences that seem to play on all the major committees. All these point to a major change needed in the leadership and possibly in the SRM

The way i look at Sikh History...and "choices" is exactly opposite what you saw ???
What I see as Proof in Sikh History is that given a CHOICE...100% of SIKHS ....CHOSE the DIFFICULT PATH of Torture/death..and NOT the EASY ONE of luxury and Life !! Even the five year old and seven year old Sahibzadahs REJECTED luxury of palace life as Royals married to Beautiful princesses...and CHOSE A HORRIFYING DEATH by being bricked up ALIVE !!
IN Modern Day....more and more SIKH WOMEN are wearing Dastaars..in Toronto there are more sikh women wearing dastaars than in the whole of India..while in Punjab more and more men are cutting hair (inspite of claims by derawadee pakhandees of "amriticising" ( I wont call them amritdharees) MILLIONS of followers ???? AMRITICISING is anew word i coined to describe a GHONA MONA being sprayed by a few drops of amrit and being made to wear a free kachera/patka/karra/kirpan for a while...and who then goes back home and first thing he does is remove the kachera/kirpan/kesh....so that he can be "amrticised"again and again ( I met one such person who collects kirpans/kacheras form such amritcising sessions and sells them to fellow villagers ) These AMRITICISED MILLIONS account for the derawadee figures !!! Please re read Dalbirk ji's post .He mentioned that How sikhism declined severly after maharaja Ranjit singh.Had it not been singh sabha movement perhaps Sikhism would had vanished.Could please tell me the reason why 80-90% sikhs abandoned it after the decline of Sikh empire.
Similarly Also look at muslims,How many of them are wearing beards? Perhaps only 1% of there youth to choose beards Quote: |

| May be it is true But still very large number of sikhs live in India. It is still only a handful of sikh women are wearing dastaar in Canada .A handful of people could choose but unless mass of people should accept that,O/W i see Sikhism is going purely li8ke the Parsi Religion's way where the mass of people became extinct and handful of people are sticking and following there religion strictly. | | The following member appreciates kds1980 Ji for the above message. | |

They are not from other planets
they come from families like us.If our leaders are corrupt then it means that majority of community is corrupt. After all Punjabi's are biggest money chasers of world. They just want money and money ,no matter from where it comes from | | The following member appreciates kds1980 Ji for the above message. | |
