Waheguru Ji, Why do you keep me away from sangat? It always seems that the world has an access to Good Sangat but I am by myself. I struggle to search for you, to meet you but no one reaches out to help me, to encourage me. Why am I so lonely? The path to becoming a Sikh can never be lonely, only the thing is we get overwhelmed and loneliness sets in. Create your own sangat by seeing Waheguru Ji in everything, turning to Guru Granth Sahib Ji for help and talking to other Gursikhs.

Sometimes when we live in an area where there is not many Sikhs or Sikhs that don’t follow Sikh principles, we have to create our own sangat. Good Sangat is not always Gursikhs; it can be anyone that encourages you to be good Gursikh. So don’t be afraid to talk to your friends when they ask you questions about Sikhi because once they understand it, they will encourage you to keep walking the path. Not just your friends and family but the whole world will encourage you to be a good Sikh and see Waheguru Ji in all. All you have to do is see Waheguru Ji in everyone and see the good in everyone as you would in Waheguru Ji. Once you see Waheguru Ji in everything, you will treat them love and respect and they will give it back. If you lack Sangat just look around you, Waheguru Ji is everywhere to give you company on this seemingly lonely path.

When you can’t see Waheguru Ji in everything, then turn to Guru Granth Sahib Ji and he’ll show you Waheguru Ji in everything. Whenever you are at a lose and it looks like you have no one to guide you or encourage then turn to Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Guru Granth Sahib Ji will listen to all your problems and advice you accordingly. Maybe that is the reason Guru Gobind Singh Ji passed the Gurugaddi to Shabid Guru instead of a human Guru. Now we can turn to Guru Ji at anytime, even online and He listens and advice. We don’t have to run from one place to another to find Good Sangat, we have it with us always. What can be better sangat then Guru Granth Sahib Ji Himself?

We know Waheguru Ji can help us but there are times when our faith is so shaken we are afraid to turn to Guru Ji. That is when it is very important to turn to Gursikhs for advice. The Gursikhs can be Panj Pyare or Granthi Sahib at the local Gurudwara Sahib Ji. But at times we feel we can’t relate to them because of the age difference and life style difference. The next step is to look for local Gursikhs with whom we can relate to and turn to advice. But once again, we have a tendency to feel there are no good Gursikhs that live locally. The final step in looking for advice on the ever popular internet where we have great websites like Sikhsangat, Sikhnet, and GurmatBibek filled with some great sangat. But once again, we have tendency to feel like we can’t relate to those people either or they seem too good to be true. The truth is all those sources are great Sangat, we just ask the wrong questions. We can approach anyone of those Gursikhs and ask advice on how to work towards becoming Gursikhs or solving problems in Gursikh way. Remember any where we see 5 Gursikhs together they stand as representatives of Guru Ji.

There is no better sangat then the sangat of Guru Ji and Waheguru Ji. Waheguru Ji is everywhere and that means great Sangat is everywhere. As a Sikh your never alone, just look around you. You have Waheguru Ji, Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Gursikhs that live all around the world.
