And I do think the title is right. Of coarse Sikhi is for the entire Mankind but Sikhs are especially supposed to lead by example simply because they highly visible are so they are expected to be different. That is their resposibility |
harbhans ji
Apologies. The term "the worse thing" is not meant literally, but is an expression to mean the exact opposite. It means, if that is the "worse" thing, then things are actually not bad at all, but are rather good. I should have avoided an American idiom.

| | | | | Re: Is Sikhi Being Wasted on Sikhs? I'm looking for a prospective bride for my cousin in Australia . The father of that girl has posted this detail of bride I recieved today in mail . ..............she is looking for a partner where it could be potential for marriage in future ......... HE:........ Must be someone who enjoys eating out , travelling & have a generally active lifestyle , MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN . Sums up everything which is wrong with Sikhs today , they just believe in EAT,DRINK & MAKE MERRY . Use Sikhi & their background for personal AISH ( definition varies from person to person ) . This is an article which I endorse fully word by word . The way out would be to preach Sikhi to all of 1200 million Indian ( leaving out present Sikhs ) in their mother tongues starting with Hindi , Gujarati , Bengali , Telugu , Tamil , Marathi which are the bigggest spoken languages in India in addition to English . My take would be to translate Guru Granth Darpan by Prof Sahib Singh Ji in all these languages & do Katha & explanation in all these languages starting with Hindi & English , this is IMHO the most imporatant project which has been neglected wheras we are wasting billions of dollars annually on show off & ego boosting exercises like Kirtan Darbars , Nagar Kirtans , Goldplating & building more Gurudwaras , roadside langars , Hemkunt Yatras , high flying ( & paid Raagis ) Sants , Babas whereas our existing 1% of Sikhs hardly can recite the name of TEN GURUS in sequence , hardly 5% have heard of Sikh Rehat Maryada & only 0.05% know its contents in addition to 95% of village youth who have gone apostate ( clean shaven ) | | The following members appreciate dalbirk Ji for the above message. | |

There are any number of Gujratis, Maharashtrians, Tamilians, Bengalis, Andhraites etc who have studied Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sikh History in detail. It is a treat and a pleasure to listen to their discourse purely on Sikhi. They do not make any reference to Gita and other non Sikh scriptures even in passing so that they not mistaken and accused of trying to show similarities between Sikhi and Hinduism. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/sikh-sikhi-sikhism/29169-is-sikhi-being-wasted-on-sikhs.html
So yes, I do agree with you that if whole of India is made aware of Sikhi, I am sure it will get an excellant response and further improve the quality of spiritual life and morality in India without coaxing anyone to abandon his faith. Gurufateh and Chardian kalan | Harbans ji and Dalbirk ji,
Guru Fateh and well said and one excellent idea.
This should be the new project of the Sikhs in power rather than creating infighting so that the rest of India and the world can find the tools to live in harmony.

| | | | | Re: Is Sikhi Being Wasted on Sikhs? This caste system is the worst thing ever - TBH - I have moved away from the Indian / Punjabi circle of people and more towards gora people since my projects require me to work me with Goras.
You won't realise how stupid us Indians really are (not talking about myself) and the ignorance many show.
I will left the caste business then today we would have all been one but perhaps split on wealth status
Seriously, if any of you are ****** off with this caste business, just leave your Punjabi/Indian circles (if you live out of India) and then just see by how much your mind will open up to the better things in life! |
