Manmukh , a person who works and does his deeds as per his own will and is not Guru Oriented, is always attached to the maya and duality and remain lost in emotional attachment. Due to this he is not able to detatch himself of the worldly affairs. Emotional attachment is said to be a sort of sickness for a seeker and has to be subdued. Manmukh also does not understand the Shabad of the Guru i.e. he does not comprehend the bani and does not live the type of life as is recommended by the Gurus and as a consequence suffers here and also is not honored in the divine Court. It is only by remaining Guru oriented that one subdues ego and remain absorbed in the praise of the Lord by naam simran etc and remains happy and balanced restraint. [ It is through his Hymns and Prayers, that one feels inspired and uplifted and one’s life becomes based on truth and righteousness.] Thus it is through the service of Lord that one can remain detatched and overcome the attachment which is stated to be trap of maya.

Mind has a tendency of wishing for one thing or another. These hopes and desires are obstacle for the spirituality. It is only by serving Him that one can remain in balanced restraint and remain absorbed in self. One can curb the longings and desires that one can really attain a peace with self and remain absorbed in the self by overcoming/ burning attatchment.

The Guru oriented person work in the manner according to Gurmat and becomes entitled for burning the emotional attachment and attain the state of detatchment and remain within self and feel the divine happiness. Through the continued service to the Lord he is able to overcome ego and remains carefree i.e he becomes a stable minded person. Such a person is lucky and fortunate that he finds the company of satsangat and ultimately attains the Lord with inuitive ease that becomes the source of joy and estacy.

A person is a sadhu/saint and the renouncer who is absorbed in naam .ie. the praise of Lord. He enshrines the naam within self. He get rid of the tamas, the lowest form of maya’s quality i.e. the negative thoughts that are hurdles to the spiritual growth. In this fashion the person overcomes the ego from its roots. Satguru shows him the wealth of naam and he remains absorbed in sucking the sublime essence of the Lord.

Those fortunate who seek the company of holy sangat are the true renounce. But those who are not guru oriented and do not lead the life as per Gurmat find themselves lost in this world and remain suffering from the disease of egoism. Only those who are absorbed in the Guru shabad and understand the meaning and implement it in the life get colored in the color of the Lord. The real color of the Lord is obtained only when one has the fear of Lord and the seeker is well disciplined. Without the fear of Lord one cannot expect all this to happen.
