Why we are happy while being robbed?

As in worldly approach, the poor are those who have nothing materialistically. In spiritual world, this fact is laughed at as an illusion and without being in His love; one is poor regardless worldly achievements. So there is a line drawn, either go along with those who are in an infatuation with the race to achieve wealth, name and assets or follow who have inimitable wealth of spirituality where mind stands still and immaculate from Maya.
Wandering in both worlds is a self deception because while standing, no one can say he/she is sitting or vice versa. These complex states of minds are defined by both worlds in different way; in materialistic world, every thing is shown to see, to feel and to grab it; however in spiritual world, it is expressed with circumspect approach of giving examples of those who experienced it. Later is more into faith in those who had it. One has to be a mother to enjoy the ecstasy of labor because words could hardly express that.
Right in the context of spiritual motifs, Fifth Nanak makes aware his followers to wake up from a slumber in a much pruned style, here it is

Gauri Guareri 5th Guru. The eyes are asleep by casting evil glance towards other 's beauty. The ears are asleep on hearing tales of slander. The tongue is asleep in the desire for the relish sweets. The mind is asleep in the poisonous intoxication of wealth.
The eyes, the ears and the tongue take control of the mind, and the mind is fully occupied, “who is God, I shall see later on” attitude is blossoming with in. It is said repeatedly in Gurbani, one must consider to be blessed to have this human body, it is time to devote time in His praise; however, busy senses are bribing the body to intrigue the mind to hang in there. Spiritual aspect is being evaporated moment by moment. This is called a slumber, a strapping hindrance in spiritual goal..
Rare is the person, who remains awake in this house( house of soul). His commodity ( His Naam) he receives in entirety. Pause.
Guru ji advises the followers to be awake, what does that mean?. It is about being aware of the fact that this life is His blessing to be with Him and not to be engrossed in this world drama. This Maya that incites to fall for temptation needs to be understood.. There is a race for it, in this race, happiness remains elusive. All this keeps the mind unaware of what is being taken away from the soul. The robbery takes place and we witness it smilingly, literally we are helping to complete it.
All the maid companions (senses) are intoxicated with their own relishes. They know not how to guard their own house(body). The five evil passions are the plunderers and highway robbers. The cheats fall upon the unguarded ( not being aware) town(body).
Metaphorically, the followers are infused with the awareness of the soul being robbed of the time to be used for His praise to acquire eternal joy. Warning is to pay heed to what is happening and certainly it is not favorable to the soul. Five primal forces are at their work, one must know that to realize the Truth, and it is more important than these trivial accomplishments.
From them( five primal forces) Father and mother cannot save. From them friend and brother cannot protect. Through wealth and cleverness they are not restrained. By the society of Saints, those villains ( five primal forces-senses) come under control.
In spiritual world, there is no relationship that can be taken as helpful though it is quite often done in materialistic world, the soul travels alone; only support it can gather is from the deed it chooses to do through Guru.. For those who are lost in materialistic world, these words sound illusory; however, in spiritual world, these are the ones that define eternal verities.

Have mercy on me, O Lord, the Earth Sustainer. For me the dust of Saints feet is all treasure. In the society of the True Guru the capital – stock(of Naam) remains intact. Nanak is awake( from these thugs) in the love of the Supreme Lord.
Here is a prayer to the Lord, the wish is to be with them who are aware of these robbers and who proved to be successful guards. Soul will be protected; strapping temptations would be snubbed as useless. A path to pursue eternal joy would be treaded on with inspiration and determination.
He alone is awake unto whom the Lord is Merciful. This commodity, wealth (of Naam), and property of his then remain whole( no one is left there to rob it). Pause second.
Prayer is necessary; it is a prayer to be in that environment in which His praise becomes ultimate goal. Only this is begged from the Lord because only in the company of those who have realized HIM, one gets aware of this robbery. Chances are bright to over come five primal forces while being in their company. The sources to achieve that goal become crystal clear. Why would we then allow this robbery to take place ever? So man without a religious guidance is like a car without brakes. The Company of His devotees provides those brakes.

Re: Why we are happy while being robbed

This is the biggest paradox of Human Civilization today , we r happy when in fact we r being robbed by five thieves . Even after being robbed , a human being fails to realise this loss & continues with his /her old ways . Does not listen to Guru's words due to his /her own EGO . As always Pk ji, ur this post is very enlightening & refreshingly original . My appreciations for the same & keep up the good work in future also .

Thumbs up Re: Why we are happy while being robbed

PK70jee, you are right that In materialism we feel happy by being robbed by five evils daily. I can say it’s our bad luck or HE doesn’t want us to meet our soul with HIM, that’s why we lost in this materialism world. Sometimes our inner voice gives us alert but our stupid and losted mind doesn’t wants to hear this voice and we feel happy with our material things. Guru Sahib gives message to escape from this trap repeatedly in many shabads but we just read these shabads never try to understand or follow Guru’s bani. In the era of materialism we are reading Gurbani as a ritual or as a book.

Without following Gurbani our life will be just like a car without brakes. Imagine what will happen by a car without brakes same thing can be happen with our soul and in society all evils will rise. Life will be hell.
