Guru Gobind Singh Ji threw a stone and a patasha in a river at the same time,
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/sikh-sikhi-sikhism/21830-stone-and-patasha.html

Guru Sahib ji said to a Singh, get these 2 out , the Singh put his hand into the water and got out the stone.

He said : 'Maharaj there is no patasa'

Guru Sahib ji said, the stone represents us!! The patasa represents gurskihs!

Gursikhs get totally absorbed into WAHEGURU jeeo's love and Gurbani, that they dissolve exactly like the patasha, the stone on the other hand still floats, and remains the same….. still hard and has the same consistency, which is unchanged.

The stone represents us because we listen to gurbani, we go to gurudwara and we may matha tek as much as we want but we still dont change our ways! We still do not understand, contemplate and reflect WAHEGURU jeeo's sweet Gurbani.
