GURBANI is meant to bring RAHAO...PAUSE...CALM....SEHAJ...in our Lives....we all know how we run like rats (rat chase)..every single day...well..Gurbani is to bring about OPPOSITE to that...as Kanwaljit singh ji has pointed out..ice cool even when seated on a Hot late..boiling inside a pot (Bhai dyala Ji) or being cut into half (Bhai mati dass Ji) etc etc....

In a WAR situation..in a Spur of the Moment type of response situation..many can be heroes.suffer pain without feeling it much (like in an accident most victims dont feel any pain..until after...then the screaming begins..) BUT it takes REAL SEHAJ to remain super cool a nd calm in situations that Guru Arjun ji faced - alternate hot plate/boiling in pot and having hot sand sprinkled over naked body over a period of 3 days or bhai mati dass j being sawed alive for about 15 minutes form A-Z. that is a spiritual feat taught/brought about by GURBANI. This is why you cannot compare a suicide bomber who blows himself up as a "martyr" on the same plane as Bhai mati dass Ji for example..
