Heist films in which the criminal mastermind brags to police that he is about to pull off the ``perfect robbery'' are supposed to add up in a way that ``Inside Man'' never does. And yet the geometric precision with which this clever puzzle is laid out produces a picture whose sum exceeds its sometimes wayward parts.
