Ex-communicated editor of The Spokesman, Joginder

Chandigarh (KP) - Panthic Weekly has received exclusive reports by trusted sources that the Spokesman editor Joginder Singh is going to be honored by extremist Indian organizations for his efforts in the launching of the daily edition of Spokesman. Joginder Singh, editor of the controversial Spokesman magazine, who was officially excommunicated by the Khalsa Panth on March of 2004, has once again reached new heights of arrogance with the launch of the daily edition of the Spokesman from Chandigarh.

Our sources revealed that the move of honoring Joginder Singh of spokesman was supported by none other then the Shiv Sena (Hindustan) President, Pawan Kumar Gupta. Shiv Sena and its leaders are known for their extremist activities against minorities. Not only have the Sikhs suffered at hands of the Shiv Seva, other minorities of India have also been victimized. This same group was responsible for the anti-Muslim riots of Gujarat in 2002. It needs to be noted that every year, Shiv Sena (Hindustan) celebrates the anniversary of June 1984 attack on Sri Darbar Sahib and Akal Takht Sahib, as Vijay-Divas (Victroy Day) at their Patiala headquarters. They also partake in burning effigies of the great Sikh Martyr Baba Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale and Babbar Khalsa activist Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara.
Pawan Kumar Gupta, the President of Shiv Sena also announced that a special seminar would be held in Patiala to honor the Spokesman editor. This statement was announced at a special meeting which was also attended by many other senior leaders of the Shiv Sena organization and also by local political personalities. The presence of the well known local Congress leader Harnek Singh Aulja was also noted at the Shiv Sena meeting. Aulja also praised the launch of the new anti-Panthic daily.

Pawan Kumar Gupta expressed that he has great hopes from the Spokesman Daily, and that he has also been a regular reader of the Spokesman magazine for many years. He suggested that the newspaper should be popularized throughout the country so it could become an informative device for all Indians. One wonders how this newspaper could become an informative instrument for those who deny the very existence of the Sikh religion.

Consequently, after the launch of the daily Spokesman newspaper, Jathedar Gyani Joginder Singh Vedanti appealed to the Khalsa Panth to boycott the newspaper and had also asked Sikhs to refrain from providing it any assistance. Panthic Jathedar, Bhai Sahib Ranjit Singh Ji, also offered his complete support in this campaign.
Panthic organizations, Shahbaaz Khalsa, and GURSIKH, threatened that if the new Spokesman Daily does not stop deriding Sikh principles and values, a massive campaign would be launched to boycott those who advertise in the newspaper or assist it in any way.

Reaction from the Khalsa Alliance
In reaction, a representative of the Khalsa Alliance stated, “Now that this nexus between the Spokesman and these extremist Indian organizations has also been established, there should be no doubt that Sikhs worldwide should not only boycott the Spokesman, but also refrain from using products or services which are advertised in the newspaper. Why an organization which once publicly wished the destruction of the Sikh religion is now interested in this ‘Sikh’ magazine and newspaper is anybody’s guess.”
History of the Spokesman magazine
Even after being excommunicated from the Panth, the editor of the Spokesman still portrays himself as a Sikh. To him the profane work published in the Spokesman is for the cause of the Sikh nation. The Spokesman magazine's first publications had a very different message then it has now. In the beginning, the magazine voiced the concerns of the Sikh community and was against many of the ideas which it publicizes today. The change came about when the editor started collaborating with Gurbaksh Kala Afghana. It was then when the direction of Spokesman made an aboutface.
Initially, it opposed the very treacherous policies of the Government in which features it now regularly lauds today. Sikh militants of the 80’s and 90’s who are respectfully referred to as the ‘Jujharoos’ were once positively spotlighted in this magazine but these life stories remain distant from being published now.
The story of the Spokesman remains the same for many other such elements which were once viewed as Panthic. If the Spokesman editor has any concern from the ‘cause of the nation’ then he should appear at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and ask for forgiveness. Until he clears his stance of obtaining support from anti-Panthic factors such as Gurbaksh Kala Afghana and the Shiv Sena, Sikhs should boycott the editor, the Spokesman magazine and its newspaper at large.

Spokesman is mouthpeice of great Singh Sirdar Gurbax singh Ji Kala Afghana.

If Sikhs are not respecting him then whats wrong if Shiv Sainiks like Surindr Kuamr Billa or Gupta JI honour him.

In fact had he been Hindu he would have recived good honour from Sangh parivar also.

(Note Gujrat riots were more by VHP or Bajrang Dal and no Shiv Sena there.

Shiv Sena of punjab has nothing to do wirth one of Bala Sahib Takhery JI).
