HALAL meat is being fed to schoolchildren, even though many are forbidden from eating it. Initial Catering Services, the borough's largest contractor, has not told schools that new menus use halal meat, causing alarm for Sikh families whose religion forbids them from eating it.

Das can say that if they give us Halal by falcious mode our faith will still remain but will it be same for them if we give them Jhatka or pork?

They must know that if they want us to respect them thenn they ,must know how to respect others.(Das is not making this as genralyy ofr Muslims but for those who are doing evil).

Thing to to noted is that Ilford in essex is hot bed for Al Mahjouroon ,who along side Pakitani followers are laways up to ,malciously by method of flasehood, there to convert Sikhs,Hindus and Christians alike to thier type of Islam.

Is there a scientific reason why we do Jhatka?
Can Sikhs have meat which is a machine cut?
Are we forbidden from consuming pork and beef products if its from west?

As per Akal Takhats verdict perhaps during 1981 only Halal meat is not allowed.

So as per main stream Sikhs like das anyother meat but not halal can be eaten.

And if Halal is eaten by mistake then it is possible that Tankha dand may not be given but more for intentialy eating Halal.

There is a story when a Sikh was forced to eat Halal by Muslims but Guru said that by force his(that Sikhs) Sikhi can not be taken away till own mind does not submits to anti Sikh things.

While as per Nihungs and thier code of conduct(not all of them) only Jhatka meat is to be eaten.ie animal killed by single blow with shout of Sat Shri Akal.

As per Damdami Taksal only when not even the peice of grass is left then to survive only Jhatka can be used.

As per AKJ no meat in any case.

It is up to you to decide that which way is to follow.

Das has eaten western type of meat where animal is stunned by electricity perhpas before killing and has also eaten beef and pork.

As per Nihungs and Damdami Taksal also perhaps cow must not be killed but Dasham Granth tells of Rama and Krishna killing cows.It was done by acent Aryans,who worshipped Akal like Rama and Krishna.

Sau Sakhi tells of not eating reaered pig(perhaps one which eats filth and is unhyginic).

Jhatka was done as practise to cut the neck of opponent in war so was a way to practise killing.

It retains blood so iron conetant but should be consumed fast if no refrgration is to be provided.

Is there a scientific reason why we do Jhatka?


i feel that jhatka scientifically is reference to state of fright of animal if death is prolonged or iminent
animal goes into state of fight or flight. causes rush of adrenaline.
if we eat meat in this state we will have excess adrenaline making it difficult foir us to stay relaxed, focused and in meditative state

does this make any sense??

If sikh kids don't want to eat halal then no one is forcing them ? Buy a cheese sandwich instead, I dont see why so much depression over a drumstick (or lack of)

No, sorry what you said makes no sense at all.

adrenaline (aka epinephrine) is a catecholamine, its amino acid precursors include tyrosine and phenylalanine. It breaks down in any gastric environment by trypsin, chymotrypsin and an acidic environment....it is not absorbed into the bloodstream via the gut. Which is why medical doctors administer catecholamines through syringes, intravenous drip or convenient autoinjectors.

the only hormones that are absorbed throught the gut are steroid based hormones (progesterone, estrogen, etc.)

secondly,
majority of sikhs are addicted to chai or coffee..caffeine based drinks that enhance adrenaline production.
