just a little correction ! | I can't do anything about it. And there is nothing to correct. Both of those images are actually composite photos. The faces of various singhs and kaurs are not single pics. the first one has multiple photos together as a single photo. The second one has 3 photos together as a single photo. That is how they appear in the original at Ajit. To put this up, from the Ajit Weekly I had to do a page grab of both photos as they are presented on the Ajit web site. Then upload them as you see them now. That was the best that could be done at this time. Apologies if this is a problem for anyone. | | The following member appreciates spnadmin Ji for the above message.

Over here I severely admonished a Sikh who told his Commanding Officer that its not compulsory to go to Gurdwara on Sunday (becasue he felt like sleeping ) So when the next SIKH wnated to be transported to Gurdwara s was his RIGHT as per Army regulations, his commanding Officer tried to persuade him to not go..as he presumed its not compulsory and after all he is only 1 and the Gurdwara is far away..while the majority are msulims who already gone on Friday Prayers..and the Transport driver wants to rest....thus that one lazy Sikh helped in the deprivation of the Rights of another sikh..i call this hindrance. IF the Genuine SIKH really wants his rights he has to struggle harder just because one other lazy sikh is not that into sikhi... | As is known, I am a mona, although Gyaniji, I think there are a fair few of us that although sikhs, do not believe it ok to look this way, however, reading this, this morning, I have to confess to looking at those photos with the same envy and desire to emulate, that I had when I was younger, turbanned, and looking at men with crew cuts. , I have always maintained that not having a turban is on a par with say, letching, or drinking, but I am not so sure now, I have readdressed my opinion on this subject and have to concede that the hair and turban encapsulates an identity that is at the core of sikhism, much much more than say not drinking.
When I first decided to be a sikh again, a few months ago, I was fairly sure you could still get a general idea without the turban, I also enjoy playing the fool, on the basis that this life is not worthy of taking seriously, and that the true world is in my head, and as long as my head is true, I can carry on finding society as repulsive as I do, without the need to play along with it.
To that end, I could never wear a turban now, people would think of me as a madman in a turban, and I have no wish to drag the image of a keshdhari sikh through the mud.
However, I looked at the those photos for a long time, and then I looked into the mirror for a long time, although army folk, you could see the kindness and backbone in each persons eyes, no air of arrogance or pride, just a willingness to follow the creators path and using every potential within, and yes, you could see compassion too.
I looked at the reflection, a cuddly indian balding chap, t shirt stained with heatsink paste, one black sock, one white sock, baggy shorts and boots, I think I have gone overboard with the desire to not impress people..
Beautiful and inspiring posting Gyaniji, it has tipped me towards the realising the importance of kesh and pugh, thank you | | The following members appreciate harry haller Ji for the above message.

| | | | | Re: Dastaardharee Sabat Soorat Sikhs in the USA/Canadian/UK Armed Forces Harry Ji..I am real GLAD I wrote that piece..and even more happier that SPNADMIN ji worked really hard to get the accompanying PHOTOS up there...as I knew that a photo speaks a thousand words more.... Along the way I have many many mails such as the one you wrote...and it makes me resolve to keep on writing..even though the very FIRST one scuh mail i received was enough to make my "life" for ever....that was in 1978...when a Colleague who had cut his kesh due to relentless migraines that were affecting his work and study....when I came into contact with him at work..after a few nights of discussions (night shift) he opene dup his heart to me..he had been devastated that his doc, his parents and everyone else recommended cutting off his kesh..as the cure for his incessant headaches...and he was very very guilty and crestfallen..I assured him as best as I could...and was I pleasnatly surprised when he came to work the next day wearing a puggh...he told me he was going to keep his kesh....he went on to suffer worse and worse headaches...but he kept his kesh and puggh...later he was diagnoed with Brain tumor...he would grow his kesh back after they fell off after each chemo session.... Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=36108
finally boarded out of work...and he is still alive but as a vegetable...he is always so glad to see me whenever i visit him..and he always clutches my hand tightly ( Never for anyone else)..and form his eyes i know what he wants me to know..his kesh are intact..becasue his amrtidharee wife and kids stood by him and wont let anyone cut them..BUT he knows that even his wife was helpless once..and it was ME that led him back to his GURU.....THAT ONE case was enough to convince me that its my work to write in favour of the Kakaars....and there you have it..Keep in Chardeekalla Jios always..its always HIS WILL whatever we do...Blessings. | | The following members appreciate Gyani Jarnail Singh Ji for the above message.
