As for your answer of Punjab police is concerned. Please read that how police shot down kar sevaks in Ayodhya in 1990 and many Hindu kar sevaks were killed. Can't we say the same thing that police in UP was Hindu then why they shot down kar sevaks? Punjab police despite being sikh is never known as sikh friendly, may be because of days of khalistan the religious youth were not recruited or fir some other reason
| You are right about the Hindu police BUT the congress government of the time was majority hindu YET it allowed one lakh Kar Sevaks to go to a religiously charged place like Ayodhya as the govt did not want to lost votes on Ayodhya Issue.
On the other hand, shooting the Kar Sevaks made Mulayam Singh(a hindu) a hero for the muslims and as a result he got the muslim vote every election until recently.
Police is never against any community in my opinion. Obviously I don't mean individual policemen but its the politicians manipulating the police and the crowd who benefit.
So you could say that the Dera votes are guaranteed to Badal in the next election along with Bihari votes. Do you agree or disagree with the writer above? Why not share your immediate thoughts with us! Login Now! or Sign Up Today! to share your views... Gurfateh! |

| Police come from people and if people are against any community then police too become supporters of them.In partition before indepence Hindu, sikh rioteers faced much difficuilty while Muslim rioters got free hand as Punjab police had muslim majority. After 15th august
Hindu sikh rioters got free hand as non muslim police replaced muslim police.similarly Muslim police and army actively played role in riots in pakistan. In 1992 kalyan singh too created atmosphere that even if president's rule imposed and police was asked to fire then they too were going to refuse to fire to stop babri masjid demolition
As far as Badal is concerned he committed a big mistake. He will loose more sikh votes than he gain.Ashutosh did not have mass following in Punjab. Also Punjab is an agararian state
Its true that religion and dera play role but main thing is agriculture.Even this time despite a sikh PM being projected large jat sikh peasantry still voted for akali's as they firmly beleive that only Akali dal can look after their interest. | | The following member appreciates kds1980 Ji for the above message.

| | | | | Re: Murdered Sikhs The Day After Ashutosh and Ludhiana AusDesi Ji ,
The protests by Sikhs were very very peaceful , it was that police panicked when the protesters reached within one mile of Satsang venue . They started firing indiscrminately taking positions like we see in Jallianwala Bagh incident , only after firing started did the Sikhs resorted to pelting stones & shouting ( the use of Kirpan was very very rare maybe one or two incidents ) . It is just that the sight of Kirpan gives a free play to police & OTHER party to conveniently blame the Sikhs for using Kirpan . The talk in the city is that the DC Vikas Garg was very very clearly told , come what may the protesters should not reach the venue . | | The following member appreciates dalbirk Ji for the above message.
