He was an alpha male in the traditional sense, the top male in any given group. I much prefer that usage.

Thanks, Sinister ji. I am somewhat gratified that the traditional meaning is still listed first - and I will be VERY careful how I use the term, especially when describing Mani. He will become "the alpha male in the traditional sense.

And I never, ever use the term "friends with benefits"except when talking about a Judge Judy episode.

and has wandered a bit.
I can't define an "alpha male", I am not one but like the description of porn "I know one when I see one." I know I am not one because during a conversation with a friend I realized and revealed to him that I have never in my life struck anyone with my fist in anger and the only time I have been beat up was by a cop. This is very important to me because I try to do as little harm as I can but I am not perfect. Anyway I think violence is an early characteristic of these "alphas" along with a bit of weight lifting later in life so they can dominate in the situation they wish to. What their relationship is to porn I have no idea about.

Also I think on of the phrases that the US Supreme Court used relative to pornography that became popular was "redeeming social value" which is subjective and vague enough to be useless. In America free speech won the day and our right was not diminished which is good for all. From what I have read on this thread I think you all agree.

I think it,s a religious forum. There are so many debatable topics but all that should not
be discussed here .
Anyhow the topic is now highjacked by 'alpha male' supporters; all naked in their community-bathroom. Alpha-male means "the primitive, uncivilized man". West is a hardcore supporter of it. We need it not. A sin shouldn't be celebrated anyway. It's enough .

Indeed the thread has strayed but by your "alpha male supporters" statement you did not mean to say that they favored them in so manner I think, excuse my syntax, but let's not further that discussion. However I think the rest of it is topical and current while certainly being relevant to Sikhs don't you agree?
