| | | | | Ban the Kirpan - Ravidass Protest London Ban the Kirpan - Ravidass Protest London Register to Remove Advertisements Ban the Kirpan - Ravidass Protest London A protest rally was held in Central London by the followers of the Dera Sach Khand on 14th June, This rally was organised in protest following the attacks and the subsequent death of one of the sect leaders in Vienna in May 2009.The rally attracted approx 2500 people from across the UK and possibly Europe. Photos of the late Rama nand were being carried by the procession. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/sikh-news/25427-ban-the-kirpan-ravidass-protest-london.html Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=25427
A group of 8 young Singhs attended the rally to hand out leaflets of promote peace and harmony. This action was taken due to the amount of misreporting and it would seem misrepresentation of the facts by some anti Sikh elements. These Sikhs attempted to distribute leaflets to those in the procession to highlight that there is no need for violence or aggression as this will create further problems, a copy of the leaflets intended for distribution is attached to this email.
However it is very disheartening to report that these young singhs were met with aggression and hostility, despite an intimidating reception the Singhs continued in their efforts to hand out the leaflets.
As the rally reached the Haymarket area these Singhs were physically manhandled by the stewards and some members of the procession, following continuous compliants to the police by members of the procession the Police dragged the Singhs away and they were told to stop distributing leaflets.
There were leaflets being distributed by the rally organisers which were calling for " BAN ON THE KILLING WEAPONS ", this statement is obviously aimed at banning the Sri Sahib, the reverse side of the leaflet was in Panjabi and there was a description of the attack in Vienna. The exact words from the leaflets were " some of the members of the Sangat in Vienna saw 5-6 men with Distars and each wearing 2 Sri Sahibs... "There were also placards with colour photos of Sri Sahibs with slogans " Ban These Killing weapons "..
Within the rally there was a call for a "separate granth " , which seemed very inflammatory and an attempt to provoke the Singhs. The Singhs then stood on side of the road displaying handwritten signs " Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji " and "Sikhism has no caste ". The protesters were extremely hostile and some were even swearing at the Singhs who were standing peacefully on the pavement. The crowd was shouting Jo Bole So nawae, Guru Ravidass ji ki Jai., the Singhs ended the day with Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal !!
It is a shame that the followers of this sect choose to act in this way and continue with their efforts to provoke negative reaction from the Sikh community.

Our leaders never visiulise the grand plans behind these all protests and negative reportings by media regrding Sikhs. These people never relise that it was Guru Arjun Sahib, who was the first to gave the due respect to Bhagat Ravidass by including his teachings in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Till a few years back, we never heard of any of these sects in India. If some vested interest are bent upon to create the differences between the two communities, than GOD can only save us. | | The following member appreciates Hardip Singh Ji for the above message.

Infact the Baani of Ravidass Ji if it had not been collected , preserved & included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji had been lost to mankind forever . All during Ravidass ji's life he had to face the wrath of high caste Brahmins who thought of him as untouchable being a Chamar ( Cobbler ) a so-called low caste according to Hindu Caste System . Immediately after his death , Brahmins destroyed & polluted all his writings , spread all sort of rumours about him , spreading stories to prove him an idol worshipper , Ganga worshipper , etc . Similarly the writings of all Bhagats like Kabir , Namdev , Dhanna & all others found outside Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji r not treated as authentic by scholars . No wonder in 3500 years of history of Hinduism , no reformer ever was able to make his mark on society except Vivekananda , Debendranath Tagore in 19th century ( under British influence ) because the all powerful Brahmins won't let anybody move an inch away from well established Varna System . The so-called Dalits were the most suppressed under this system treated even worse than animals . But it is a sad commentary on part of Sikhs & these so-called down trodden masses both that the religion which was formed to liberate these classes from the cluthes of cruel Brahmins r being used to destroy & attack that very religion by those very Brahminical forces . Why we all have come to this situation ? Anybody stopping to ponder over any of these causes .... | | The following members appreciate dalbirk Ji for the above message.

Why we all have come to this situation ? Anybody stopping to ponder over any of these causes .... | The only reason is that all of our so called Panth Leaders are just sleeping on their votes. If it would not have been their votes in the recent Noormehal assembly byelection in Punjab, Badal and his team might have avoided visiting their Dera afetr the death of Ramanand. It is a hard fact that after seeing that Badal have turned a blind eye on what ever they (dera followers) are doing, their own Dalit party BSP withdrew their candidate from the byelection and put all their votes in Badal's kitty. All our efforts will remain to be fruitless till these vote hungery leaders are their. | | The following members appreciate Hardip Singh Ji for the above message.
