Harsimran, my darling wife of 20 years, watched this on Zee TV and was very impressed with the background story of how she became the Gatka expert. A brain tumour was discovered before she got married. Her present husband only wanted to marry her despite this. After the marriage she had the tumour removed which made her lose her eyesight. Her in Laws are very supportive of her. The couple has a 2 year old son. She has not visually seen her son.

She has shown us how to be outstanding against all odds.
Now let us put all this in perspective. In Punjab where female infanticide is as normal as having Gol Gappas. Where Sikh men shun women if they are not "modern". Where in laws treat their daughters in law like door mats.
This story is a heartening one and shows real true Sikh values. This can only happen when first and foremost female infanticide is stopped and that can only take place if we start following the teaching of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji rather than parroting it.
Let us make Rashpal Kaur the Nishaab sahib bearer of the real changes that Sikhi truly needs.
Rashpal, my heartfelt FATEH to you. You have shown us through your actions the true spirit of Chardi Kala.
