The country's highest Sikh body, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has announced it would take full responsibility of the abandoned girl child to curb female foeticide. Following the announcement, SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar a pragmatic policy will soon be planned and implemented to take care of the abandoned girl child.
