iews of Dalkhlasa are also given from link. =DAL KHALSA=Taksal setting wrong precedent by holding Akand Path of Dasam Granth Quote: Taksal setting wrong precedent by holding Akand Path of Dasam Granth | Quote: | 08 November 2006, Wednesday We condemn Damdami Taksal for installing Dasam Granth like and at par with Guru Granth Sahib. Similarly, we oppose the move of Taksal to hold an Akand Path of Dasam Granth at village Dina-kangar near Bathinda on Nov 11.
The Tenth Guru himself accorded the status of ‘Guru’ to Granth Sahib and he (Guru Gobind Singh) made it clear that no other book should be given the same status. “By holding an Akand Path of Dasam Granth, the Taksal would be violating Sikh Rehat Maryada (code of conduct)”.
As per Sikh Rehat Maryada, under the title ‘Gurdwara’ on page 12 section (e) it was clearly mentioned that ‘no book should be installed like and at par with Guru Granth Sahib’. The Damdami Taksal, in a sheer violation of Sikh Rehat Maryada has installed the Dasam Granth like and at par with Guru Granth Sahib at its Headquarter Chowk Mehta since long.
The Sikh Panth was silent on the violation because of Taksal’s contribution towards the Sikh cause. We believe, the proposed move of the Taksal would cause more divisions within the community. We urge Taksal leaders to shun their programme otherwise it would loose its credibility whatever little it holds within the community.
Since the SGPC claims to be custodian of Sikh Rehat Maryada and Sikh tenets, its president should speak out against Taksal’s move. “Let Jathedar Makkar to step in and put to an end to all practices that were in sharp contrast to Sikh Rehat Maryada”.
We also make an appeal to those Sikhs who have been rejecting the Dasam Granth in totality to restrain from their criticism. It is an open secret that the Sikh Panth is divided over the issue of Dasam Granth. Till the matter is resolved by the Panth amicably, both sections should avoid taking extreme step that could hurt the sentiments of either side. |
