For me these are signs of ego and it is quite possible I am mistake.

You have the right to believe what you want. I live by Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji nothing more. I do not believe in any man made marjyda.

Dear findingmyway,

WJKK WJKF.

I applaud you for the post. I am comming a bit late but hope I can contribute. First we try to discuss/identify who made the statements and then discuss the meaning. My contribution up to 3rd pauri as follows.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=34825

Setting the scneario that Guruji is on his travels and comes upon a gathering of "people". He identifies who they are and says
isD sBw kir Awsix bYTy sMq sBw jYkwro
A group of siddhis are having a assembly, and my GREETINGS to this gathering of "sants".
However he continues, my SALUTATION is to TRUE LORD with the following lines.
iqsu AwgY rhrwis hmwrI swcw Apr Apwro ]
msqku kwit DrI iqsu AwgY qnu mnu AwgY dyau ]
nwnk sMqu imlY scu pweIAY shj Bwie jsu lyau ]1]

The above is the "greetings to the gathering and salutation to WAHEGURU" part.
Then comes the discussion proper.

Guruji says
ikAw BvIAY sic sUcw hoie ]
swc sbd ibnu mukiq n koie ]1] rhwau ]

The siddhis wondering who this "young saintly person" is and question
kvn qumy ikAw nwau qumwrw kaunu mwrgu kaunu suAwE ]
swcu khau Ardwis hmwrI hau sMq jnw bil jwE ]
and continue
kh bYshu kh rhIAY bwly kh Awvhu kh jwho ]
nwnku bolY suix bYrwgI ikAw qumwrw rwho ]2]

Guruji replies
Git Git bYis inrMqir rhIAY cwlih siqgur Bwey ]
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=34825
shjy Awey hukim isDwey nwnk sdw rjwey ]

Comments on this.

My interpretation contd..... Comments welcome.

Summary so far: the true saint is Waheguru. Waheguru’s will controls all. The true yoga is constant remembrance of Ik Oankar. A true hermit is a person who lives in the world but is able to not be tainted by it. Using Shabad Guru helps us achieve this.

From Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji starting Ang 939

Re: Sidh Gosht - An Alternative Translation

Jasleen Ji,

Please have a look at this link Page 27 onwards.
I did this course in Gurmukhi and luckily it is available in English.
It's the 260 page ebook in scribdassets.
http://www.scribd.com/search?query=sidh+gosht
It might not give you a translation but rather the history of Guru Nanak's encounters
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=34825
with the various Siddhas - what transpired between them Depicted by Kavi Santokh Singh.

In June/July, the Sidh Gosht syllabus book will be out by Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Academy Malaysia.
They even have a website but at present, it is not uploaded yet.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=34825
I'm eagerly waiting for it too.

How does one become immaculate and pure? How is the darkness of ignorance lodged in front of us?

Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=34825
Whoever is able to understand and explain the reality is our Guru and we will pay our respects to him."||14||

ਦੁਰਮਤਿਬਾਧਾਸਰਪਨਿਖਾਧਾ Dhuramath Baadhhaa Sarapan Khaadhhaa ||
Man is bound so tight by Maya that the serpent is eating away at him and he doesn’t want to let go.

ਮਨਮੁਖਿਖੋਇਆਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਲਾਧਾManamukh Khoeiaa Guramukh Laadhhaa ||
The manmukh, the one who follows his mind (which is enraptured by the serpent of Maya), loses all sense of the purpose of life, whereas the Gurmukh makes true gains from life. The manmukh is lost, the gurmukh has found meaning.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਮਿਲੈਅੰਧੇਰਾਜਾਇSathigur Milai Andhhaeraa Jaae ||
When the Gurmukh connects with the inner Satguru (God), the darkness caused by Maya (duality) is dispelled from their sight.

ਨਾਨਕਹਉਮੈਮੇਟਿਸਮਾਇ੧੫Naanak Houmai Maett Samaae ||15||
Nanak says, only by eradicating egotism, can one merge with Ik Oankar. Only by removing the illusion of self and the duality that results from it can you feel the connection with Naam. ||15||

ਸੁੰਨਨਿਰੰਤਰਿਦੀਜੈਬੰਧੁ Sunn Niranthar Dheejai Bandhh ||
ਉਡੈਹੰਸਾਪੜੈਕੰਧੁ Ouddai N Hansaa Parrai N Kandhh ||

If the mind remains in constant contemplation, not distracted by anything else (i.e. not influenced by Maya) then duality doesn’t cause the mind to explode and the body doesn’t fall apart (as we treat it more kindly I think due to fewer indulgences making to stronger!)

The physical body cannot be disregarded as it is the vehicle which allows us to live lives as Gurmukhs. Torturing the body like the sidhs do doesn’t make it stronger by itself, control of the mind does too. The swan has been compared to the mind. Swans can be graceful or vicious. Flying is likened to the wandering of the mind. So if the mind doesn’t wander, the body (the wall) doesn’t collapse

Nanak tells us that those who make their mind calm (live with serenity) they become and love the truth. They become the embodiment of Waheguru. ||16||

Your efforts are appreciated. Keep on your good work.

In the above It is seen that you have translated 'sabad' as 'word of sabad'.
What is its contextual significance and relevance.?
We should keep the translation of 'sabad' as 'sabad' ; why add 'word of sabad'?
Kindly throw some light if you can do it off the cuff. Similar translations are found in Sant singh Khalsa translations.....
Thanks...

TARANJEET SINGH Ji,
Your observation is correct regarding "word of Sabad".How far this is correct this needs to be verified.
In fact there is "GuR Ka SABAD(u) ",we should try to grasp this.This is very very important point of Gurbanee understanding.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=34825
You can observe the word "sabad" is predominantly found as sabad(u) With matra of Aukad under letter D of the word.
