Nihangs: Last Warrior Monks of the Sikh Faith - View Fantastic Slideshow |
Dear Anonymous, Sanatan Sikhism is a broad and inclusive branch of "The Sanatan Dharma" that integrates spiritual concepts from the Vedas and Puranas with the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Adherents of Sanatan Sikhism, or Sanatanis, have great respect for Sri Guru Granth Sahib and should not be confused with followers of the Sanatan Mat who show allegiance to living gurus. Sanatan Sikhism includes such traditions as the Budha Dal, Udasis, Nirmalas, and Damdami Takht. This working definition of Sanatan Sikhism should guide your decisions about the content you post. Please be fully aware that any violations of forum rules may lead to automatic deletions. Automatic deletions will also apply to the following content: proselytizing on behalf of gurus, swamis, or babas, be they self-styled Sikhs, Hindu or other; hate speech or calls for violent acts against Muslims, Buddhists, or members of other faiths; political rhetoric that questions the patriotism of Sikhs who deny that Sikhism is a branch of Hinduism; religious rhetoric that undermines Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the Eternal Guru of the Sikhs; alleging that any forum member is a "slanderer" of the Gurus or the Sikh religion in the face of a legitimate debate about issues. Remember that the purpose of this forum is to discuss issues and deepen our understanding - not to inflame emotions.

Last guardians of the warrior Sikh traditions, thousands of Nihang monks roam across Punjab: a life of wandering dedicated to prayer, the practice of Martial Arts, and to the protection of the Sikhs, their front forward mission
