Dear Ambers Ji,

Sat Siri Akaal,

As I understand, what the 'Sat' had given us is Atman, what we overlay it with is 'Linga Sarira. The voices that rises within us comes from our deeper layers of the brain is in fact from these two sources - 'Linga Sarira' and the 'Atman'. That is why we get two advices from within us; the two voices normally oppose each other. When we turn worldly the coating of 'Linga Sarira' over 'Atman' becomes so thick that the voice of the former i.e. 'Atman' is fully blocked by this coating and we become Manmukh in real sense. We degenerate

However by disciplining our senses with effort, stabilising our functioning of brain and losing our 'Í-ness' the 'Linga Sarira' starts dissolving; the coating of 'Atman' becomes thinner and thinner and finally it ceases to exist. At this stage of spiritual evolution the voice that comes from within becomes the pure one from 'Atman' alone; there is no second voice now and we become Gurmukh in real sense. We evolve

As 'Atman' is given by 'Sat'' to us directly it is Puneet; we can say that the voice that comes from it is that of the 'Sat' - 'Satguru'.

I some other post I will share my understanding, with the grace of the 'Sat', that 'Atman' and 'Parmatman' are not two but one and the same.

Life just IS, we may use all kinds of expressions but it won't make any difference to how things work beyond our human understanding.

One such understanding is :

Just as the sun is a splinter of the galactic center,

I came across the following and it perhaps applies to the topic here,

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮੇਟੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸਾਏ ਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੋ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥
Ŧarai guṇ metai sabaḏ vasā▫e ṯā man cẖūkai ahankāro. Anṯar bāhar eko jāṇai ṯā har nām lagai pi▫āro.
One erasing of the three influences, embedding the wisdom so removes egotism from the mind. Recognizing one to be inside and out, then the creator’s understanding is loved.

Ŧarai saṯ angul vā▫ī a▫oḏẖū sunn sacẖ āhāro.

O reclusive hermit, the True, Absolute Lord is the support of the exhaled breath, which extends out ten finger lengths.

ਉ. 69: ਹੇ ਯੋਗੀ! ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੁਆਸ ਦਾ, ਜੋ ਨਾਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦਸ ਉਂਗਲਾਂ ਪਰੇ ਚਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਭੋਜਨ (ਆਸਰਾ) ਹੈ।

ਅਉਧੂ = ਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ! ਆਹਾਰੋ = ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ, ਆਸਰਾ।

ਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ! ਦਸ-ਉਂਗਲ-ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਅਫੁਰ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਸੁਆਸ ਸੁਆਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਪਣਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ)।

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੈ ਤਤੁ ਬਿਰੋਲੈ ਚੀਨੈ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥

गुरमुखि बोलै ततु बिरोलै चीनै अलख अपारो ॥

Gurmukẖ bolai ṯaṯ birolai cẖīnai alakẖ apāro.

The Gurmukh speaks and churns the essence of reality, and realizes the unseen, infinite Lord.

ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਨ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਿੜਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਬੋਲੈ = ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਤੁ = ਅਸਲੀਅਤ। ਵਿਰੋਲੈ = ਰਿੜਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ (ਸੁਆਸ ਸੁਆਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਲੱਖ ਤੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।

त्रै गुण मेटै सबदु वसाए ता मनि चूकै अहंकारो ॥

Eradicating the three qualities, he enshrines the Shabad within, and then, his mind is rid of egotism.

ਉ. 70: ਜਦ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਵਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥੀ ਵੰਝਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਚੂਕੈ = ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ) ਤ੍ਰੈ-ਗੁਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਮਿਟਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥

अंतरि बाहरि एको जाणै ता हरि नामि लगै पिआरो ॥

Anṯar bāhar eko jāṇai ṯā har nām lagai pi▫āro.

Inside and out, he knows the One Lord alone; he is in love with the Name of the Lord.

ਜੇਕਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਸੁਖਮਨਾ ਇੜਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਏ ॥

सुखमना इड़ा पिंगुला बूझै जा आपे अलखु लखाए ॥

Sukẖmanā iṛā pingulā būjẖai jā āpe alakẖ lakẖā▫e.

He understands the Sushmana, Ida and Pingala, when the unseen Lord reveals Himself.

ਜਦ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ, ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੀ, ਖੱਬੀ ਤੇ ਸੱਜੀ ਨਾੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਯਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਇੜਾ = ਖੱਬੀ ਨਾਸ ਦੀ ਨਾੜੀ। ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ = ਸੱਜੀ ਨਾਸ ਦੀ ਨਾੜੀ। ਸੁਖਮਨਾ = ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੀ ਨਾੜੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਯਾਮ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁਆਸ ਟਿਕਾਈਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਅਲੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਲਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ), ਤਦੋਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਇੜਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਸੁਖਮਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹੁ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੬੦॥

नानक तिहु ते ऊपरि साचा सतिगुर सबदि समाए ॥६०॥

Nānak ṯihu ṯe ūpar sācẖā saṯgur sabaḏ samā▫e. ||60||

O Nanak, the True Lord is above these three energy channels. Through the Word, the Shabad of the True Guru, one merges with Him. ||60||

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾ-ਯਾਮ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਤਿਹੁ ਤੇ = ਤਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ, ਇੜਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਸੁਖਮਨਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਭਿਆਸ ਤੋਂ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਯਾਮ ਤੋਂ। ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ। ॥੬੦॥
(ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇੜਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਸੁਖਮਨਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਭਿਆਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਹੀ) ਸਮਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬੦॥
