Today's youth consider punjabi language cheap...Help!!

PUNJAB had the great misfortune to have given birth to TWO UNGRATEFUL AKIRTGHAN sons...one chose to say his maboli is URDU..the other HINDI....although BOTH SPEAK SHUDH PUNJABI at home..for official purposes they DENY their MOTHER. (Akirtghans of another kind sometimes DENY thier mothers and afthers by saying..oh no these old people are my MAID..and MY DRIVER/CHOWKIDAAR only..my parents are not here ).
IN Pakistan, URDU is actively promoted as Offcial language, and Punjabi speaking is said to be gwaar, unparrh, illeterate village folk...( dissing PUNJABI while speaking PUNJABI is an art ..becasue the biggest province in pakistan is PUNJAB and Punjabis dominate in all fields..govt, army, navy, air force, civil service etc etc)
IN India, the Arya samajist PUNJABI HINDUS became akirtghanns - ungrateful sons by disowning their Mother tongue by officially claiming to speak HINDI (while tlaking in PUNJABI). The Past 60 years of relentless drive to DRIVE OUT PUNJABI in BOTH PUNJABS has borne soem fruit...but PUNJABI still THRIVES...overseas...in Canada UK its fast becoming a MAJOR Language...much to the chagrin of the akirtghanns back home...

Majority of sikh scripture are in Gurmukhi script so there is no question of Punjabi disappearing.Any one wants to read and write sikh scripture have to learn Punjabi.

Islamic scriptures are in arabic do all muslims speak arabic?

Hindu scriptures are in sanskrit do hindu's speak sanskrit?

Yes I agree with you that Punjabi is considered as cheap but main reason is state level languages are considered spoken by people which are doing menial jobs.

Indian urban high class prefer to speak English to show how educated they are

then people speak Hindustani(not hindi) with more and more words from english

And then they consider speaking other language

The other day I was in the park going for a run. I was shocked when a group of youngsters were sitting on the climbing frames, cursing and using coarse punjabi, there were some elderly people and families just metres away. It seems that it is "cool" to swear in punjabi but the element of respect is disappearing in the youth.
