VIOLENCE..was NEVER used in SIKH AFFAIRS..ever. Not by the Sikh Gurus..not by Sikhs and certainly not by the SIKH Jathas during the Singh Sabha Lehr as well even though very provocative environment was created most of the time. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji declares..Gurmukh betheh saffan vichaayee..Gurmukhs sit together and...discuss..debate..and reach a concensus...always the Sikh Panth has consulted..debated..discussed...even when the Gatherings were as Big as Sarbatt KHALSA..with HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS attending..not a Single act of violence was ever reported.
This "culture" of violence..beat up your opponent...intimade a fellow SIKH..use of huge steel karras, as a weapon is also becoming common (more and more ghonas also use this strategy)...every other day we see Media Pics of "SIKHS" brandishing Naked SWORDS in demonstrations...latest the Ravidassiah community also resorted to this Naked sword displays after the Vienna incident and Hindu Parades show Naked Trishuls....is ALIEN to a GENUINE SIKH who follows the SANT-SIPAHI principle of MIRI-PIRI. A True Sant Sipahi mIri Piri keeps his ANGER in check..his MIND in CONTROL..his FACULTIES SANE !! I am not a Sikh but violence and religion are polar opposites to me. When one resorts to violence they repudiate their religious or spiritual beliefs.
