| | | | | Akhand Kirtani Jatha There is a gurdwara near me and I will be going soon, but I noticed that Atlanta Akj is having a smaagam in June. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/new-to-sikhism/20852-akhand-kirtani-jatha.html
Has anyone here gone? Is there a place where you can stay or put up? Would this be a good experience for someone new like me? I figure I might have to deal with ethnicity issues at the local gurdwara so the Akj thing seemed inspirational. *

| | | | | Re: Akj I've been to multiple AKJ smaagams ...
it's a fun time, and you'll probably love how involved the entire congregation is. I would definitely recommend going to see what its like and to experience it for yourself. As per AKJ overall, you can read about them, and their policies and be your own judge.
My opinion, smaagams are fun and involving, but AKJ is far too out there for me. |

| | | | | Re: Akj Yes, that's how I found it. A pity there isn't an adult Global Khalsa camp for newbies and just to get together. I think that would be helpful. |

Check the SPN calendar -- you might find something there for adults. Oops! I didn't mean that the way it must sound. |

I didn't even know there was a calendar here, excellent. I also found this event in May for girls:
Kaurs United, in Facebook as their new website isn't up yet.
"KAURS UNITED IS COMING TO TORONTO! MAY 1ST-4TH: Kaurs United Toronto Camp for all Sikh Women aged 12 and above. For more information e-mail kaursunited@yahoo !" |

| | | | | Re: Akj Jios Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=20852 Just as a follow-up note I think I have updated the calendar with smagams from this thread.
The link provided by Harjas ji includes an abundant amount of information about smagams and Khalsa camps worldwide.
Links to these events will be gradually entered in the SPN calendar. It takes a while. :: AKJ.Org :: Programs ::
Thanks to Harjas and futurekaur for their information. |
