Okay I posted before about meeting a British born and raised Punjabi Sikh guy who recently moved to Canada (I'm a white Canadian convert and still very new with Sikhism but I do go to the local Gurdwara) I want to meet and settle down with a Sikh man so that he can help guide me on this journey (and me him, hopefully) -- someone on the same level with me spiritually. Well, we met online through a dating site and he was the only one I really talked to... and we hit it off (online and by phone anyway) And he said he felt something like he had to meet me and he asked if I would be ok with him flying here (we're on opposite sides of the country) and I said yes.
Well..... everything is REAL now! I am meeting him for real this weekend! He lands here on Sunday!!!  ! What do I wear? LOL My heart is racing a mile a minute because I hope I am everything he thinks I am... and trust me I am not perfect. I am sooooo nervous now! And excited!!! As a side note, I have been single for a very long time (I'm 36 and been single since I was 26)... nobody I ever met clicked like this, probably because they weren't spiritually compatible with me. And spirituality has always been a HUGE part of my life even before I realized Waheguru was pushing me on the path to Sikhi.

We met... and instantly there was something there... He stayed here (at a hotel for part of it and at the Gurdwara for the rest) for a total of 11 days, and we held hands everywhere we went (only got a few looks from the local Indian population). Now he is gone back to the other side of the continent and we both miss each other dearly.
Problem is one of us has to make a sacrifice for it to go anywhere more (which we both want). But me being in the military I can't move for now (I have 4 yrs left in my contract) and he doesn't know if he can get used to a small city where there is not a huge Sikh community. He is used to Gurdwaras being open all the time, and here it's only on Sunday. So that is the dilemma... after my 4 yrs is up, I am willing to move anywhere. And I know that we both know that we would be good together... we still talk every day and SMS etc all the time. (In fact most of our SMS's are 'Miss you' etc.) Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=38912

Akasha bhenji, sorry I can't give you any advice but I just want to say I really, really hope it works well and that you two end up happily together.
