| | | | How are you growing as a human being ? A very good thought... must reply... Quote:
when we're young, we are often overwhelmed by the adjustments young people must make in order become adults: career, marriage, raising children. But these things are not the sole purpose of life are they?
how are you folks growing as human beings and finding the purpose for your individual existence? marriage (which we practice for by dating and making ourselves attractive), profession (which we prepare for by being career-minded and going to school) and raising children (for which there can be no practice ) are things that are specific to a social existence, not an individual existence.
eventually a time comes in all of our lives where we wonder what is the significance of our individual existence. when this time comes and it comes to everyone, things like the company of members of the opposite success, money, family became things that we can't derive our happiness from. such a time is a big test of our individual humanity. for some it comes early in life, for others this is known as a mid-life crisis
so what ways of thinking or techniques are you folks using to grow? how are you planning to define your lives outside of career and spouse?

| | | | | | | i think people who practice their religion are trying to fulfill that need... Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/interfaith-dialogues/218-how-are-you-growing-human-being.html
personally speaking, i believe that we're all here to leave the world a better place than it was when we got here. now, whether you do that through practicing your religion, volunteering your time, donating money to a charity or creating a totally new charity is all up to you. in the end, what matters is that you tried to make the world a better place by helping someone out. |
