I start by quoting Francis Bacon a 17th century scientific revolutionary that stated:

"Nature is conquered only by Obedience/knowledge" (Novum Organum)

With the start of the 21st century is this coming true? I would have to say yes ....
Nature has become the obedient servant of man despite the fact that man still operates within its confines (interesting). It is because of this dominating force we have over nature that the human race has been able to flourish and explore this planet (at the highest peaks to the lowest sea depths). We dominate over all floura and fauna: "it is knowledge that has brought power to man" (Baconian Principle).

Although sometimes it appears we are at the mercy of nature and its elements it does not mean that nauture can impose its will upon us anymore (those days are long gone).

Unfortuantely or fortunately Mankind has reached a point where it cannot turn back and become "one" with nature again. (no longer be part of a balanced system)
Nature is molested for the benefit of man and it must continue to be molested for our sustenance.

Is this a disturbing fact or one of pride for a sikh? Is this considered progress in the eyes of sikhs?

Was not Man meant/designed for such a destiny?

If God is all pervasive in nature and everything and anything knowledeable to the Human, have we not conquered (or are we not in the process of conquering) God, and made/making him our servant?

cheers
