Had tears in my eyes viewing this amazing performance... have never seen such a beautiful yet terrible depiction of war evils... thought i must share this with you... Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who just won (in 2009) Ukraine's version of "America's Got Talent." She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

Germany's invasion of Ukraine was ferocious, brutal and inhuman. For years after the second world war Ukranians, displaced and refugees to the US and elsewhere, looked at the world from behind masks frozen with memories of horror. Few could even speak of what they experienced and what they witnessed.
