Access database closes with error report each time I update recor.

My Access database keeps shutting down on me everytime I add a new record or
make an update. Gives an MS error msg saying that it "encountered error and
needs to close" then options of send/don't send report". I sent the report in
to find out if there were updates that I needed to install, and after doing
that (installing Office updates), I am still encountering problem.

More information please:

a) Which version of Access? (See About on the Help menu.)

b) Does this happen when you enter information directly into the table? Into
a form? Does the form have a subform?
